What is a PIP?
A PIP, as per FATF, is someone with a significant public role, which can include former officials. The definition extends to lawmakers, party members, senior public enterprise executives, judicial officers, and religious leaders. Laws regulate dealings with PIPs, their direct/marital family, and close associates, to mitigate risks of corruption and undue influence.
